Sideways is a free game you play in your browser, on a phone or a computer. There's nothing to download. You're a putty blob rolling down hills, and there's just one button: tap to jump, or hold for a bigger jump.
The faster you roll, the bouncier you get. Jump the lava pits, bounce on trampolines, squelch through mud and sludge, and hit the boosts to go full comet. Twelve levels, from First Roll to Leap of Faith.
Every fall into the lava is a death, and the count keeps going for the whole run. Finish all twelve with the fewest deaths to get on the Best Scores board.
Sideways is the second game from PuzzleBusters, a dad-and-daughter duo from Aotearoa New Zealand. Steve and Tui (age 9) set themselves a challenge: make a brand-new game every school holidays. Their first, Rigid Digit, has grown into a daily maths puzzle played all over the world. Sideways is the latest: the controls are dead simple, but the levels are anything but.
Sideways is free to play. If you'd like to leave a tip anyway, it goes straight to Tui, toward whatever she makes next: leave a tip for Tui.
